Here's a great story I read a few days ago that I wanted to share.

It's about a passenger who was flying from Israel to Cairo on El Al airlines.

When he checked in at the airport a young Israeli woman checked his luggage.

Israel is surrounded by states hostile towards it (rightly or wrongly) and being wary of bombs is almost second nature so she searched his luggage very thoroughly albeit politely and courteously.

When she'd finished he thanked her and said, goodbye.

She replied she would see him on the flight.

When he questioned, she explained that it was El Al procedure, if you check the passengers' luggage you have to fly on the plane.

The person who inspects the passenger’s luggage for bombs has to bet their life on how well they do their job!
