Slate to me is the best option if you can afford the cost upfront. It costs more to install because of the weight but the upkeep is cheap and it lasts very long.

Yes indeed but when you pay something you get something and it's best value for money and you should think about your budget and if it goes good then you can better quality too.

Love the way wood looks but it does not last long for crap. Asphalt seems to be the go to budget material most people get. It is great up front but you tend to have to get a whole replacement done in 20 to 30 years. So in the long run, it ends up costing the same as the better options.
