Forum Title: Police Arrest Suspected Burglars Posing As Roofers
Just when you think you've heard everything, this happens. I guess in this day and age, you can expect anything to happen. This is just another thing that makes roofers look bad.Quote: Police received a report that a man posing as a roofer tried to talk his way inside a residence in the 3700 block of East Fitzsimmons Road at 12:50 p.m. Dec. 14. The man, who allegedly told the homeowner he was there to fix some loose/missing shingles and was persistent about wanting to come into her house, was denied entry by the homeowner. During the investigation similar incidents were reported at homes in the 3500 block of East Fitzsimmons and the 9200 block of South Annette Place. Police found the man and an allegedmale accomplice at a home in the 8800 block of South Chicago Road at about 3:55 p.m., where they were both taken into custody for attempted burglary. Source

I guess if you're around long enough, you will have heard everything. I don't know how these guys expected to get into someone's house that way. Of course, there are some trusting souls out there and if they would have come across one, I'm sure they would have gotten in.

I don't know, it's a pretty weak story to try and pull on someone to get inside their home. Obviously it didn't work as no one was hurt or robbed. I'm just glad they caught the guys and got them off the street. Maybe they will think twice before pulling a stunt like that again.

I was thinking the same thing. You usually know when someone is coming over to fix something on your house. You would think that they would have tried some other way to get into the house, or maybe just wait till no one was there.
